“And I’ll be happy for you; If you can be happy for me; Circles and triangles, and now we’re hanging out with your new girlfriend; So far from where we’ve been; I know we’re cool…” This week we’ve been saying goodbye to summer, by featuring Gwen Stefani’s many looks from her 2005 music video, “Cool.” As she reminisces about her past love in Italy, we’re reminiscing about the end of the sunny season. Here is Miss Stefani donning our favorite look of the video, a capped-sleeve red shift covered in white polka-dots with the jute cord wedges she’s been wearing throughout the whole video. Her flawless skin, beautiful eyes and flowing chocolate locks are a drop-dead stunning combination, and the best we’ve ever seen the famous blonde look. The Minnie Mouse print is timeless, and the hint of Gwen’s black bra makes her outfit both adorable and sexy. It’s time to say farewell to summer, but never forget the gorgeous clothes you wore, the places you went and young love you’ll always remember. <3
“We have changed but we’re still the same; After all that we’ve been through; I know we’re cool…” While covering all of our favorite looks from Gwen Stefani’s 2005 music video, “Cool,” here is the Hollaback girl herself wearing an old-fashioned bathing suit while canoodling with her boyfriend in a flashback. It’s definitely a happier time for the couple, while they’re hanging out on a dock in stunning Lake Como, Italy. Gwen sports a cornflower blue, 1950s one-piece with delicate white piping, and her cute jute cord wedges she has on in multiple scenes.
“Remember Harbor Boulevard; The dreaming days where the mess was made; Look how all the kids have grown…” Throughout our favorite Gwen Stefani music video, “Cool,” there is a definite nautical color scheme of navy blue and white, but Gwen manages to be seen in two stunning, brightly colored sheaths before its short four minutes are over. While waiting to meet up with her beau, Gwen is leaning against a bright yellow wall in Italy, donning an emerald green halter dress adorned with white leaves, and nude espadrille wedges, looking just like a sunflower in a garden patch. (Also, invoking ideas of Orla Kiely’s graphic nature prints…) We get to see the dress in its best light as the pair runs off to a wheat field in slow motion. The movement of the full skirt is beautifully feminine and carefree, just like the young woman she is. Although Gwen is seen fanning herself from the summer heat in this dress, she looks effortlessly cool.
“We used to think it was impossible; Now you call me by my new last name… Memories seem like so long ago; Time always kills the pain…” Gwen Stefani’s favorite color combination is certainly blue and white in her 2005 video, “Cool,” when reminiscing about young love. Here, she takes a Vespa ride with her boyfriend while wearing a white capped-sleeved blouse and a cute pair of navy shorts adored with tiny bows on the side. She wears the opposite combination of a white shorts and a navy top while singing in the present-day shot. If you’re looking to get Gwen’s look, check out Style Amor‘s great post!
This “Wednesday’s Shoe” is a staple of Gwen Stefani’s looks – a pair of leopard pumps she sports in her 2005 music video, “Cool.” While rolling around her satin bedsheets, she sings about her lost love in an adorable navy and white outfit, topped off with these Christian Louboutin heels. The Pigalle pumps have a 1950s feel, just like most of her music video does. Made of dyed pony hair, they are both sexy and sophisticated – just like the lady wearing them! We know she’s cool about her ex moving on, but we’d be upset if we lost any of her wardrobe pieces!
“And it’s such a miracle that you and me are still good friends; After all that we’ve been through; I know we’re cool…” This “Pink Wednesday” is the only pink outfit Gwen Stefani wears in her 2005 music video “Cool.” While No Doubt’s leading lady is a beautiful brunette in her flashback scenes, here she’s a blonde bombshell reminiscing about her old boyfriend, while hanging out in her massive villa in Lake Como. She sports a leopard v-neck sweater, a high ponytail, a wide black belt and, what else, a faded salmon pink pencil skirt from Alexander McQueen’s Fall 2005 Ready to Wear Collection. The song “Cool” is about Stefani’s previous relationship with fellow band-member, Tony Kanal, and his real-life girlfriend, Erin Lokitz, plays Gwen’s former lover’s new girlfriend in the video (pictured, below). Talk about art imitating life! But, we’re glad they’re still “cool.” <3
“And after all the obstacles; It’s good to see you now with someone else…” In our week dedicated to the music video “Cool,” our “Tuesday Twosome” are the two stars of the short: Miss Gwen Stefani, and the actor playing her ex-boyfriend, Daniel Gonzalez. In the flashbacks, we see a happy couple on Lake Como, Italy, falling in and out of love. Gonzalez sports a preppy tennis sweater, an untucked collared shirt, and rolled-up khaki pants, looking like a true disheveled summer boyfriend from everyone’s youth. Stefani wears a full, slightly patterned a-line skirt, with an open capped-sleeved navy cardigan, and a blue and white gingham halter bikini top. The real Italian girl looks absolutely stunning with her natural-colored chestnut locks, and sexy European 1950s vibe. Her outfit is the epitome of a romantic summer look: carefree, classic, slightly preppy, and sensuous. But summer love doesn’t always last forever, and even though these two may look like the perfect pair, their body language certainly doesn’t look like destiny in the photo below…
“It’s hard to remember how it felt before; Now I found the love of my life… Passes things get more comfortable; Everything is going right…” This Labor Day begins our week dedicated to the end of summer, and what better to celebrate that than a holiday celebrating the return to work & a song about a lost summer love? In 2005, Gwen Stefani’s music video for her song “Cool” premiered, and boy, did we fall for this brokenhearted love song! Here is Gwen in one of the opening scenes, donning a lovely navy blue 3/4-sleeved turtleneck, white shorts, and a pair of leopard pumps. She rolls around a luscious mansion bed, singing about her old boyfriend throughout the video in this sophisticated summer outfit. Gwen may be a brunette in her flashbacks, but here she is in full Stefani form – red lips, black cat eyes and her infamous platinum blonde hair (colored by L’Oréal, but she won’t reveal which number! 😉 )
