The Cannes Film Festival collects indie and foreign film darlings in southern France every spring to determine the best movies made throughout the year. Since it lasts about ten days, there are many red carpets to photograph and styles to look at! This year’s festival made us realize why Diane Kruger inspires the likes of Karl Lagerfeld and Jason Wu… We’ve featured her on our Best Dressed list three times! This year, the multilingual actress also got to serve as one of the festival judges! Above, she’s sporting a very unique look – how often does a checked pattern end up on a ballgown?! We love her daring taste. The dress is Dior Haute Couture with simple earrings by Boucheron. Kruger also looked quite lovely during the day in a white lace dress with purple floral details and Christian Louboutin heels (pictured, above left). We’ve actually never featured Heidi Klum (pictured, above middle) on one of our lists in a positive light – despite being one of the world’s famous models, and hosting a television show about fashion designing, we honestly don’t think she dresses well. But we did like her silver-fringed gown by Marchesa (well that’s why – one of our all-time favorite designers) at The Paperboy premiere. It was very old Hollywood, and completely appropriate for a European cinema event. Michelle Rodriguez (pictured, above right) tends to play over-the-top tough girls with attitude, but she looked positively girly in her white Grecian gown with lace detailing and decorated with diamonds! Kruger looked especially glamorous in her one-shouldered seafoam green Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown, with Best Actress nominee and (host of the festival), Berenice Bejo, who sported a silk scarlet Louis Vuitton number (pictured, below).
